Managed private infrastructure for companies and families: email, files, passwords, photos and backups on dedicated hardware in Italy, under the client's own domain. No hyperscaler, no per-seat contract, one person who answers.

It is also the business through which I do technical consultancy for clients.

Full-stack IT consultant and IT architect for Widmann Srl, an Italian import-export company founded in 1951 and a European leader in the B2B distribution of party and event supplies across more than 40 countries.

The brief: an IT infrastructure carrying significant technical debt. The role covers two halves that usually sit in two separate contracts — development and systems. I run the hosting infrastructure, the systems support and the on-site technical assistance, and on that same infrastructure I rebuilt the systems the commercial activity runs on.

Main projects:

• B2B portal rebuilt, about 60% of the code rewritten: a catalogue of 9,000 products and roughly €40 million a year passing through it. Response times of the most complex searches from 30 seconds to 6–8.
• New multilingual corporate site (5 languages) built from scratch: 200+ active registered customers since launch, plus CV intake for the HR office.
• Image-processing and customer data-feed pipelines rewritten and parallelised: from hours to minutes.
• Reverse engineering and restoration of C# projects whose sources were lost, removing legacy dependencies.
• New API infrastructure for dynamic links to product images, for integration with customers' systems.

Technical consultancy for the owner, applied to the agency's own clients' projects: development, integrations and the technical decisions on the work in progress.

Evolutionary development and maintenance of the internal management applications, batch and desktop, of the Universo insurance system.

In the gaming accounts and payment systems department: the new scratch ePay payment integration, the porting of several internal libraries from .NET Framework to .NET Standard and .NET 6, fixes across SQL and C# logic, and the release flow with test support.

Development and maintenance of the internal management applications, with releases to the test environments.

New sections of the site and fixes to existing ones, onboarding of new colleagues, releases to the test environment.

Analysis, architecture and development of a new microservice middleware querying the client's new APIs for the new portal, the Contentful CMS integration as a microservice so that the content team manages pages directly, and the user authentication system on encrypted cookies.

Microservices in .NET Core (Web API on SQL Server) in Docker containers, built in Azure DevOps and deployed to the client's Kubernetes clusters; a .NET Framework service on a virtual machine as the client for electronic signature, integrating Time4Mind/Intesigroup for the legally valid signing of the policies sold. Plus tests, fixes, maintenance, support to the front-end, UX and client engineering teams, and documentation.

Development and extension of the tooling of the entire savings and pensions office: a desktop application with data import (ETL-like), consultation, portfolio registry management and custom exports, and the web dashboard of analyses and charts.

Development and extension of the «Control Room» web portal for consulting and entering the data quality processes (guarantees, policies), and Data Quality products built with Informatica Developer (ETL).

For the internal SAP management solution: a process-monitoring and table sanity-check system for the solution's system administrators.

A showcase site built from scratch, desktop and mobile, for a business in Spain.

Software and hardware support, and repair by component replacement, of desktop and laptop computers and smartphones (Android, iPhone, Windows Phone).
