What it costs
€50,000 a year
For as long as you stay. It does not rise because you stayed.
€100,000 the first year
Because that is the year I specify, buy and build the machine, and move your entire estate onto it. The hardware is my cost rather than a purchase you make; both of those happen once.
No per-seat pricing. Adding your spouse, your assistant or your tenth employee costs nothing, because none of this is licensed per head.
What the number buys
Against a mailbox subscription this looks absurd, and it is. It is not a mailbox subscription, and it is not priced against anybody else’s list. This is what the money makes possible:
— One machine, one client
One physical machine, bought and run by me, dedicated to your estate and nobody else’s. No shared tenancy, no neighbours, nobody else’s load on it.
— Nobody else in the path
Your data stays on that machine. Where something outside genuinely has to be used, I tell you what it would reach before it is used, and where I draw the line.
— One person accountable
The person who builds it is the person who answers for it, and my hours are not spread thin across a long client list.
— Room to do it properly
The right hardware, the tested restore, the spare part and the second line come out of this number, instead of becoming an argument at the moment they are needed.
The number is not set against what anybody else charges. It is set so that none of the four above has to be compromised, and so that the client list stays short enough for me to answer every one of them myself.
What is in it
Hardware
Dedicated hardware, bought and maintained by me. The machine stays mine; everything that runs on it and every byte in it is yours.
Every service
Every service on the stack, set up, updated and monitored.
The migration
The migration itself, done by me rather than handed to your staff.
Backups
Backups, offsite copies and restore tests.
Support
Support at the levels written on the service levels page — not "best effort" left undefined.
What is not
Your devices and network
Your laptops, phones and office network.
Colocation
Colocation in a certified datacentre, if your risk process needs one — offered at cost, on top.
A graphics card for Private AI
A dedicated graphics card (GPU), if you want Private AI running on your own hardware. Quoted separately, because the hardware is the cost.
Who should not buy this
If you enjoy running it yourself, keep running it yourself — you already have the thing I am selling. If you have two mailboxes and no shared documents, a €6 provider is the correct answer and I will tell you so. This is worth the money when somebody being accountable for it is worth more to you than the licence saving.
