What this is
One person runs this site, and he reads public conversations about running your own mail, files, photos and backups, so that he can answer the ones where he can help. The reader is called ArasakaRadar. What it finds is a private list of links on his own screen: nothing is republished, quoted, sold, or used to train anything.
What it reads
Public posts on the public hashtag timelines of fediverse servers, public Lemmy communities, Hacker News, public Bluesky posts, two support forums and a few blogs' feeds. It identifies itself as ArasakaRadar/1.0 (+https://arasaka.software/radar), makes about one request a minute across every site together and never more than one at a time to the same server, honours robots.txt, a server's published terms and every Retry-After, and never asks for a feed a server has declared closed to visitors.
What it keeps
The link, an excerpt, the handle, the date, the engagement counts, and the visibility and discoverability flags the author set. It reads only public posts: nothing unlisted, followers-only or direct. What it keeps stays on the machine it runs on until it is deleted by hand or on request.
How to be left alone
Write through the contact form naming the handle or the server. The entries are removed and that handle or server is never read again. An administrator can also block the product token ArasakaRadar in robots.txt, which is honoured.
